Ryan Castle: You're listening to Level 10 Leaders Power Tips, and I'm your host, Ryan Castle. Today's tip comes from Adam Goldschmiedt, a certified EOS Implementer and executive business coach. Adam's tip is on getting unstuck in 15 minutes. Let's dive in.

Adam Goldschmiedt: I had a client call me a couple of weeks ago while he was on a clarity break, and he was stuck. He didn’t know what he should work on. Here’s the exercise. Maybe this will help you get unstuck. When you’re stuck, I want you to first think about this, and this is going to be an interactive exercise. I want you to press pause every once in a while and write some things down. So be prepared. Grab some paper and a pen.

Now, think about this concept called the EOS Life. What does every entrepreneur want? It’s one of five things. It’s either more of doing what you love, with the people you love, making a huge impact, being compensated appropriately, or having time to pursue other passions. Take two minutes. It won’t take long. Write down which of those five things you want more of. Is it more doing what you love, more time with the people you love, more making a huge impact, more being compensated appropriately, or more pursuing your other passions? Write that down.

Now that you know what you want more of, I want you to take five quiet minutes. This might take a little longer because I want you to really think and challenge yourself. Take five minutes and write down three things that are preventing you from getting more of that. For example, if your goal is fitness and you want to spend more time in the gym, what are the three things preventing you from doing that? Take five quiet minutes and write those things down.

Okay, you're back. You know what you want more of, and now you know three things that are keeping you from getting there. Now, take another five minutes. This is the final part of the exercise, so give it as much time as you need, but spend at least five minutes on this. Write down three things you can do in the next week to make progress toward that goal. These should be actions that help remove the obstacles preventing you from getting more of what you want. Be as specific as possible. Make sure the actions are measurable because you’re going to hold yourself accountable to get them done. Write down the three things you need to do to remove those obstacles to getting more of what you want.
