Ryan Castle: You're listening to Level 10 Leaders Leaders Power Tips, and I'm your host, Ryan Cassell. Today's tip comes from Justin Maust, an expert EOS implementer. Justin's power tip is on the breakthrough mindset every leader needs. Let's dive in.

Justin Maust: Hey, Justin Maust here, expert EOS implementer. I've got an EOS nugget for you. It has been life-changing for me. Changed the trajectory of my family. Changed the trajectory of my life. Changed the trajectory of my businesses. And I am trying to pass this on to every single freaking client that I have the privilege of serving.

Because I think it's a game changer. Patrick Lencioni says teamwork is the ultimate competitive advantage. And I'm going to give you three statements that kind of formulate what I'm going to say as an overall mindset that kind of aligns with John Maxwell's statement, everything great is uphill. I'm going to give you three uphill mindsets that will help you move the needle and break through ceilings faster.

So number one mindset is success loves discipline. You show me where you want success, and I promise you, if you identify a handful of the disciplines that all the greats have done that are achieving that success, then you will likely start to have some of the success that those greats have done, because you're owning the same disciplines that they have.

So success loves discipline. Now take that, plus this statement: whatever you tolerate, you endorse. We tend to tolerate a lot of mediocre behavior and a lot of mediocre performance because we don't want to have the hard conversation. And what ends up happening is, by way of not addressing it, we are endorsing that culture. And so that statement, to understand whatever you tolerate in your life, in your team, in your company, you are actually endorsing, and that is going to spread. You're going to get more of that same thing, not less, if you tolerate it.

Third statement: the speed of vulnerability determines the speed of breaking through. No vulnerability, no breakthroughs. A little vulnerability, a little breakthrough in certain areas of your life or business or team. A whole lot of vulnerability, a whole lot of breakthrough. And John Maxwell says everything great is uphill. Vulnerability is an uphill activity. Stop tolerating issues is an uphill activity, and discipline is an uphill activity.

Put those three things together and you can ask yourself, what am I tolerating? Who am I tolerating and why am I tolerating it? And what would I need to get? What position do I need to frame up my mind so I can get super vulnerable and have a meaningful conversation, and increase the speed of whatever I'm tolerating to no longer tolerate anymore? That is how you breakthrough over and over and over and over and over and over. Let's go baby.
